To the typist that is both here and not here at the same time: this is so fucking brilliant. Thank you to the forest, the fingers, the listening, the conjured words. Oplettan. Every moment an initiation.

Thank you for this! 🙏

"Forsaking this conception of selfhood" - over the last few months, it's become increasingly clear to me that *this* is the project, for me at least, and I think for all of us. I love your tide ritual, although I couldn't live much further from the sea, and so I've been planning to sit on the moor for 4 days and watching what happens. It's scary, but I know that it's essential if I'm to loosen the ties of my carapace of ego.

And then, I'll go down to the sea...

Oh Dan, please let me know how it goes out on the moor (drop me an email if you like rebecca@rebeccaonpaper.com either to share or prepare).

Why four days? I'd recommend three and fasting, but that's just me.

If you're up in my hemisphere the summer solstice is coming up, could be a good time for such a ritual- those short nights are potent. Or maybe wait till 17/7-27/8 when the perseids meteor shower will be kicking off.

(And, yes, same hemisphere - I live in the North Pennines, in England, though it's so empty up here that it scarcely seems like England at times)

Why 4... that's a very good question! I'm sure I had a reason, but it's gone. Still not set in stone, so perhaps I will do 3. And, yes, fasting. My hope is to do it in the days leading up to the solstice - which is also the run up to the next full moon, so nights will be virtually non existent.
